01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Birmingham, Michigan, Market North End deftly blends the vibrant flavors of New American cuisine with the convivial atmosphere of a lively bar and restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you’re embraced by an earthy, cool vibe that sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal with friends, family, or for a casual night out.

At the core of Market North End’s menu is a celebration of fresh, homemade dishes that effortlessly showcase quality ingredients and creative flair. Their large round Classic Pizzas are a standout — imagine the silky richness of the Market White with its delicate garlic oil, house cheese, and fresh ricotta, or venture to the bold and spicy with the Spicy Vodka pizza, featuring a creamy vodka sauce paired with house cheese and fresh Romano. If you crave simplicity with depth, the Tomato Pie with red sauce, roasted garlic, and tangy Pecorino cheese hits all the right notes.

For those who love handheld goodness, the focaccia sandwiches are exceptional. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich layers Muenster cheese, hot honey, and pickled onions for a sweet and spicy crunch, while the vegetarian-friendly Caramelized Veg Sandwich offers a sumptuous mix of mushrooms, onions, peppery arugula, and luxuriously creamy Stracciatella cheese. The Mortadella Sandwich delivers a savory kick with Calabrian chili and fresh greens, making each bite a delightful journey of textures and flavors.

The attention to detail extends beyond dishes to the thoughtful selection of to-go sauces — from the fiery Side Zhug to silky Lebne, each adds an extra layer of flavor to your meal, perfect for dipping or drizzling.

Diners consistently highlight the warmth and professionalism of Market North End’s staff. McKenzie, one recently praised waitress, exemplifies the attentive and engaging service that turns a meal into an experience. While the bustling atmosphere can occasionally make service feel a touch rushed, the food's quality and the team's dedication more than compensate, making guests eager to return.

Whether you’re carving into a fresh slice of their acclaimed pizza or savoring the crisp bite of their house bread with luscious dips like the green dip and labneh, Market North End offers an authentic taste that invites you to slow down and truly savor each moment. It’s no surprise that locals and visitors alike keep coming back for both the creative cuisine and the vibrant, community-focused ambiance.

For a dining destination that delivers satisfying portions, inventive preparations, and a welcoming vibe, Market North End stands as a compelling choice in Birmingham’s dining scene. Prepare to indulge in approachable yet inspired dishes that awaken your palate and make every visit feel like your new favorite culinary discovery.

First time here. Came with some cousins for my brother's birthday. Don't have any complaints. Our waitress McKenzie was not only beautiful, but she was great at her job. She gave us her recommendations and nothing disappointed. Apps, entrees, cocktails, birthday deserts, etc, were all great! She was quick, professional, social, and checked on us many times. She made our first experience a 10/10.

Came here for a weekend dinner with friends and we all had a good time. They were really busy and the place was crowded and tight, and as a result of that we didn’t get the best service and often had to call the waiter to get their attention a few times. However, service toward the end started to get better. For food we got the house bread as an appetizer and that was excellent, and definitely a great taste. For the main meals, we got a few pizzas, chicken sandwiches and the pizza roll. The pizzas were great and were super high quality, not greasy at all and it didn’t make me feel bad after. The chicken sandwich had a lot going on, so I didn’t really enjoy it, I would say it was mediocre at best. Overall, the place is pretty good, I’d definitely recommend any of their pizzas if you plan on coming in.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places for lunch AND dinner. The food is all homemade, great quality and most of all it tastes amazing! I've been here many, times for lunch and a few times for dinner. I've had pizza, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, but what stands out to me is the ability to get a high quality meal with some very creative preparations of veggies for a reasonable price. This past visit I only ordered veggies for my entree because they are just that good! The Brussels sprouts were bold and crispy, the celery and fennel salad will blow your mind, and the parmesan cauliflower was delish (a little overcooked, but oh well). We had the octopus appetizer which I loved, the house bread - A-mazing, and my husband had the fried chicken. He loved! It comes with potatoes and carrots so such a great value for $17. We ordered dessert too, my husband really enjoyed the cookie sandwich. I enjoyed a cup of coffee. Looking forward to our next visit!

Came in around 5pm on a Wednesday without a reservation and was able to get a table right away. Place was definitely full around 6. The overall vibe of the place is very cool and earthy. The fresh bread was recommended and it did not disappoint. The green dip and labneh was so delicious that I dipped the steak from my entree in it. Server was very attentive and sweet. Definitely coming back soon!

My first time here. I got a pizza, the "insalata" well done. It was the best pizza I've ever had at a restaurant and not expensive. A filling portion too. Hard to find these days. More frequent check ups by the servers is definitely needed. The place can get a little loud too. But overall great food!

Phenomenal food. Amazing drinks. Try their garlic soup and you MUST have some of their apps - bread, hummus, kafta, salads. All amazing and great for larger groups. Be careful about going here on a busy day - aka the holidays or the weekends. It gets a bit slow, so if you’re looking to sit and hang for a while, that’s all good. If not consider somewhere else b

I’ve been to Market North End several times and the food is always good, this time our service was just okay. My biggest complaint was after receiving our food we were not checked on at all by our server until the end. This is a pet peeve, and thankfully our table was okay and didn’t need anything. We started with the house bread, which was great! So fresh and warm. The pesto dip was a big strong on garlic but overall good. We also ordered the Burrata, I wish the mushrooms had been cooked a bit harder. They were soft, with soft cheese and soft onions. Wanted more texture. The bread served with it was nice, but didn’t add the texture needed. The chicken sandwich was great! Highly recommend. Also loved the house made chips. Those were great. Ordered the beet avocado salad. There was very little avocado in the salad. That was disappointing. The chicken Cesar salad was good, average and exactly what you’d expect to get.

Hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crispy chicken sandwich and fries were also amazing. I didn’t like that it was hard to find, but the lady at the front made us laugh by showing us the “sign” outside, essentially joking with us that it is small but made a joke out of it and immediately felt like good vibes. Service was good as well!
